The FIFA rankings show that Nigeria has fallen, with Morocco now claiming the top spot in Africa
Nigeria has dropped three spots in the most recent FIFA World Ranking as a result of the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and their inability to triumph in any of their friendlies against Portugal and Costa Rica.
Nigeria is ranked lower in Africa than Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, and Cameroon. Nigeria dropped from 32nd to 35th in the ranking.
Newscrescent gathered that, Following its amazing run to the FIFA World Cup semifinals, Morocco is the biggest mover in Africa.
Just one spot short of the 10th place ranking they had from 1997 to 1999, the Atlas Lions rose eleven spots to be named the world’s 11th best team.
They are joined in the top 20 by Senegal, who had its World Cup tournament participation ended by England in the round of 16.
Due to the team’s performance in Qatar without Sadio Mane, the team’s star, the African Champions will have few, if any, complaints about their 19th place finish. With their victory over Brazil in the last group stage, Cameroon rose 10 places to be rated 33rd overall, just ahead of Tunisia, who came in at 30th.
