They Agreed To Reduce The Ransom From N20m To N4m, But My Parents Gave Them N3.5m – Kidnap Victim Narrates

A student identified as Aminat Taiwo of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) revealed the amount of money her parents paid as ransom before she was released from the hands of the kidnappers. The 22-year-old student recently got her freedom after she and her friend were kidnapped in a commercial bus they were traveling to Ibadan. The two girls came back with wounds, mosquito bites, and marks of beating on their bodies after their ransom was paid.
Aminat narrated that they were on their way to Ibadan to honor a friend who was getting married only for them to see some men in army uniform shooting sporadically. They were kidnapped and taken to the forest where they walk without shoes for 6 hours. She said that some of the victims whose family members refused to pay the ransom were killed and their body was covered with banana leaves. Additionally that the kidnappers threaten to kill them if their family members didn’t bring their ransom on time.
Adding that she was allowed to call her parent and they collected the phone from her and demanded the sum of N20 million before she and her friend will be released.
