UCL quarter-final draw: Thierry Henry names two teams Arsenal will want to avoid

Real Madrid and Manchester City are the two Champions League favorites that Arsenal should try to avoid in Friday’s quarterfinal draw, according to Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.

Arsenal defeated FC Porto on penalties on Tuesday to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals.

Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund will be joining the Gunners in Friday’s Champions League draw.

Henry, however, thinks that Arsenal’s toughest opponents would be Real Madrid and Man City because there are no easy teams to play at this point in the competition.

Henry remarked on CBS Sports, “As a player, I have experienced both situations where people didn’t want to play us with Arsenal and we didn’t go really far, and we had a team when we went to the final that I don’t think was our best team at Arsenal.”

“I remember when we played Villarreal, who were a good team at the time, and they said, ‘It is good to play Arsenal,’ and obviously we couldn’t win the final. Everyone laughed when we drew Real Madrid because they said, ‘Arsenal are the team you want.'”

Simply said, you can never treat someone disrespectfully in Europe.

“Real Madrid and Manchester City are the only two teams there that have the ability to be arrogant. You just take anyone you can play among the others.

“I still think Man City is the team to beat,” he continued. I was just putting it out there; I know Pep won’t take it well.
