We’ll get through the issues dividing our party, says Ortom
On Monday, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom gave his word that the problems splitting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the federal level would soon be resolved.
During a large PDP stakeholders meeting at the Makurdi Government House, Ortom made hints that the various factions were already working to resolve the issues that divided them.
Newscrescent gathered that, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, and the G-5 Governors—Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Samuel Ortom (Benue)—who are demanding his resignation—have been at odds.
However, Ortom had hoped that the ongoing reconciliation would produce positive results during the meeting.
“We’re really dedicated to making sure that the PDP wins the elections. We are addressing the concerns that would have caused us to disagree.
The governor stated, “We have problems at the national level, but we trust that by the help of God, we will overcome them.”
