We’ll soon unveil ‘Pulaku solution’ to tackle banditry, insurgency – Shettima

The federal administration will soon introduce the “Pulaku solution,” a program intended to address the underlying causes of insurgency, banditry, and poverty in the northern region, according to Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The Fulani term “Pulaku” means “to be shy”.
The vice president announced the plan will be presented “in a couple of weeks” while speaking to journalists on Sunday in Kano state.
Shettima traveled to Kano to express her condolences to the local populace and the state administration following the passing of eminent figure Abubakar Galadanci.
He added that both kinetic and non-kinetic measures are required and that employing the military alone would not be able to resolve the problem in the region of the north-west.
Shettima was quoted as saying that “President Bola Tinubu is determined to define the meaning and concept of modern governance, and the crisis we have in the north-west, which is further accentuated by poverty,” in a statement from Olusola Abiola, director of information, office of the vice president.
The president is resolved to directly address socioeconomic exclusion, and he will introduce the Pulaku solution in the upcoming weeks.”
There cannot be a military solution to the situation in the north-west; there must be a kinetic and non-kinetic solution unless we wish to engage in an eternal war of attrition.
The Pulaku solution, which will address the concerns and social marginalization of our Fulbe brethren in the north-west and work toward addressing the core causes of all banditry and insurgency in the country, will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
Shettima traveled to Kano with a group that included Barau Jibrin, the deputy senate president.
