Why I joined Manchester United – Rasmus Højlund

Rasmus Hjlund, a new signing for Manchester United, has claimed that he joined the Premier League powerhouses because he grew up supporting the Red Devils as a youth.


Hjlund was acquired by Man United from Atalanta on Saturday.

The 20-year-old striker committed to Erik ten Hag’s group with a long-term deal.


“It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy, and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player,” Hjlund said in a statement after joining Man United, as reported by the club’s official website.

“This opportunity to make that goal a reality excites me tremendously, and I’m motivated to reciprocate the trust that the club has shown in me.
