Excitement, commendations as Senator Saliu Mustapha distributes tractors, farm inputs to farmers

The lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha has distributed multi-million Naira worth of agricultural implements, including tractors and farm inputs, to farmers, cooperative groups, and associations across the district.
The empowerment programme, held today at the Senator’s constituency office in ilorin, is expected to enhance mechanised farming, promote food security, and strengthen rural economies across Kwara Central.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Senator Saliu Mustapha who was represented by his chief of staff, Prince Tunji Buhari, said that the programme is designed to boost agricultural productivity, uplift rural livelihoods, and promote mechanized farming, especially with the 2025 rainy season now underway.
He reiterated his commitment to advancing rural development and agricultural empowerment, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Senator Mustapha congratulated all the beneficiaries and urged them to maximize the resources to improve their yields and contribute significantly to the agricultural growth of Kwara Central Senatorial District.
In his remarks, The Chairman of the Hausa community in the state, Mallam Abdullahi Chindo, who spoke on behalf of Hausa-speaking residents across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State, commended the senator’s developmental strides and fulfilment of campaign promises.
He specifically lauded Senator Mustapha’s recent donation of new tractors to Hausa farmers across the four local government areas in Kwara Central, describing it as a “rare gesture.”
“On behalf of all Hausa-speaking residents of Kwara Central and our traditional leader, the Sarki Hausawa, we express our deepest gratitude. We do not regret supporting Senator Mustapha in 2023, and we would be glad to repeat the same support whenever required,” Mr Chindo said.
For his part, the President of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), Alhaji Muhammed Uthman Jagunma, who received the donated tractor on behalf of young farmers in Ilorin Emirate, expressed profound gratitude to Senator Saliu Mustapha for the kind gesture.
He described the donation as a timely intervention that would greatly boost agricultural productivity among youth in the Emirate, noting that it aligns with the association’s mission to empower young people and promote self-reliance through farming.
Jagunma further assured that the tractor would be judiciously used to support various farming initiatives across the Emirate.
Since assuming office in 2023, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has attracted multi-billion-naira agricultural and rural development projects to his district.
His efforts have been credited with boosting food production, empowering rural farmers, and improving livelihoods across the senatorial zone.
Recently, the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, described Mr Mustapha as one of the most outstanding first time senators in the 10th National Assembly.
“In terms of legislative input and project facilitation, he has outperformed many of his senior colleagues,” Mr Barau said.
