Buhari Names Ex-IG Arase PSC Chair

According Newscrescent reports that the Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), the president, has asked the Senate to approve the appointment of Solomon Arase, a former inspector general of police, as the next chairman of the Police Service Commission.
The President stated that the appointment was made in compliance with Section 154 (1) of the 1999 Constitution in a letter that was read aloud during plenary on Tuesday by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan.
If the Senate confirms Arase, he will succeed Musiliu Smith as chairman, who just announced his resignation.
In another event, Buhari sent the Independent National Electoral Commission two names to ratify as resident electoral commissioners.
