Suspected notorious kidnapper arrested in Osun
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Emmanuel (the gang leader), 17-year-old Isaac, 18-year-old Happiness, and 18-year-old Abraham, was apprehended on January 1, 2023 in Osun State, according to a report on Newscrescent News, while the other members of his gang fled into the bush when the Amotekun operatives pursued them.
According to the Amotekun Field Commander for Osun state, Amitolu Shittu, the suspect and his companions escaped from Edo state to Osun in an attempt to avoid capture, but their luck ran out in Osun.
He was apprehended by members of the corps for questioning after being trailed after making a suspicious move in the town of Ila-Orangun.
The commander further claimed that the suspect has admitted to abducting persons from the road between Benin and Ondo.
He admitted during questioning that he was a part of a kidnapping gang whose other members had escaped. The Amotekun commander said that he also admitted that his gang had carried out the kidnapping on the Benin-Ondo expressway and that they use rifles and other hazardous weapons.
However, the commander has given citizens of Osun state assurances that the other culprits will be located and prosecuted.
