TRAGEDY: Snake Attacks Claim Two Lives, Including Pregnant Woman, in Ilorin
Panic has gripped residents of Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State, following the death of two individuals, including a pregnant woman, in separate snake attacks within the same neighborhood.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the first incident occurred last Friday when a woman was fatally bitten at a residence located behind Royal Shekina Hotel. Barely days later, tragedy struck again as a pregnant woman was reportedly attacked by a snake in the same compound and died shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
Confirming the development, a resident, Ibrahim Osen Kehinde, said the pregnant victim could not survive the bite despite urgent medical attention. He added that previous tenants had abandoned the flat after repeatedly sighting snakes emerging from the soakaway, raising concerns about safety in the area.
