I lit the man on fire, we attempted to extinguish it, the man later passed away- Suspect

Akpan, who was arrested alongside several other offenders in the state, said that he sold gasoline and that the small disagreement they had over a phone charger was the cause of the man’s death by burning.
While speaking with reporters, the suspect also said that after committing the murder, he made every effort to undo what he had done and bring the victim back to life, but it was too late and the man could not be saved.
According to Newscrescent, He stated: “Initially, I’ll be willing to acknowledge that I performed the crime because I felt compelled to do so because he initiated the altercation. I don’t know him at all; he just wandered into my store and claimed to be looking for someone who had taken his charger. I assured him that no such person was present. He attacked me with a bottle out of rage, and I struck back. Sincerely, I had no idea what I was doing until he began to burn and a crowd gathered. We attempted to put out the fire, but it was too late; when they took him to the hospital, he passed away there.”
Nevertheless, Olatoye Durosinmi, the commissioner of police for Akwa Ibom, praised the public for helping the police apprehend the culprit before he fled the scene.
