Katsina designates Thursday and Friday as workfree days in response to Buhari’s Visit

The government of Katsina State has designated January 26 and 27, 2023, as public holidays for the state’s civil servants.
The public employees will be able to welcome President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), who will be in the state for a two-day official visit starting on Thursday, thanks to the vacations.
Sani Kabomo, the ministry’s permanent secretary for information, culture, and home affairs, said this in a statement on Wednesday.
The announcement made it clear that individuals providing critical services, such as Federal public servants, bank employees, and others, were exempt from the holidays.
In the statement, it was requested that all residents and employees give the visiting President a hearty welcome.
“As part of ongoing preparations to receive Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on a 2-day State visit to Katsina, the Katsina state government has declared Thursday, January 26th and Friday, January 27th, 2023, as work free days to enable all workers of the state, Local Government Councils, and Local Education Authorities to welcome Mr. President,” read the statement.
However, employees of the federal government, banks, and those providing critical services are unaffected by the work-free days.
