NACCIMA Appoints Amb. Segun Olugbile FNCS as Digital Economy Coordinator

LAGOS, NIGERIA — The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) is pleased to announce the formal appointment of C.itp. Ambassador Olusegun H. Olugbile, MCPN, FNCS, as the Digital Economy Coordinator, effective January 1, 2026. Ambassador Olugbile, currently the CEO of Araba Technologies Ltd, is a Chartered IT Professional, a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society, a distinguished National Policy Fellow of the NACCIMA/Abuja Chambers of Commerce Policy Advocacy Centre, and a renowned figure in the global technology landscape.
He has facilitated key national digital transformation frameworks that have shaped the backbone of Nigeria’s digital economy. He brings over 22 years of experience across the private and public sectors, with high-level expertise in digital transformation and diplomacy, to the Association. He has served on the UN Secretary-General’s Global Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group on Internet Governance for three consecutive terms and has been recognised as an Honorary Ambassador for Internet Governance. Amb. Olugbile’s work has been recognised at national and international levels, including by G-7 countries, the United Nations, the African Union, and ECOWAS. He has held various strategic leadership roles, transforming complex technology issues and digital policy that have impacted the government and private sector over many years.
This appointment marks a pivotal step in NACCIMA’s mission to position itself as the central hub for Nigeria’s digital economy. In his new role, Amb. Olugbile will oversee the development and deployment of NACCIMA’s Integrated Digital Transformation Platform (IDTP), a multi-faceted system designed to modernise chamber operations and enhance member services nationwide.
“Digital technology and innovation are integral to the development of the Nigerian economy,” stated Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, National President of NACCIMA, at a recent forum. “This appointment aligns with the federal government’s target of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2030 and ensures that the Organised Private Sector is at the forefront of this transformation’’.
Amb. Olugbile’s mandate includes harmonising NACCIMA’s digital initiatives with the National Digital Economy programme, with support from international partners. He will lead the coordination of high-impact strategic programmes which are designed to support the Federal Government’s five acceleration vectors: Knowledge, Policy, Infrastructure, Innovation/Capital/Entrepreneurship (ICE), and Trade.
The appointment is expected to provide the NACCIMA and Organised Private Sector with an unprecedented level of expert coordination and industry support. Amb. Olugbile will liaise with public institutions and international organisations to ensure NACCIMA’s digital projects are structured to attract credible support for enterprise development.
Prior to this role, Amb. Olugbile served as the pioneer Chairman of the ICT/Digital Economy Trade Group at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), and an expert member of the National Advisory Committee on Electronic Commerce (NACEDE). He has received numerous accolades, including the Thomas Sankara Leadership Prize “Pan African Technology Icon of the Year” award, 1st Cybersecurity Advocate by the Nigerian Computer Society-National IT Merit Award (NCS-NITMA) and was listed among the 100 leading Telecoms and Digital Economy Personalities in Nigeria by the Association of Telecom Companies in Nigeria (ATCON).
NACCIMA, the “Voice of Nigerian Business,” is the institutional chair and apex body of the organised private sector in Nigeria, founded in 1960. It serves as the umbrella organisation for all city, state, sub-regional, sectoral, and bilateral chambers of commerce, promotes an enabling environment for the private sector, fosters economic growth, and leads strategic advocacy efforts and high-level dialogues with government and international partners on behalf of Nigeria’s entire private sector.
