In a swift and impactful response to a pressing community crisis, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Engineer Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu, has donated millions of naira to replace and repair a faulty transformer that has left the Burhanudeen, Isale-Koko, and Ojagboro communities in total darkness for the past three months.

The donation was presented during the courtesy visit for the late demise of waka maestro Alhaja Rukayat Baitmoluwasi at her residence at Alikali agba compound isalekoko ojagboro ilorin.

The intervention comes as a massive relief to residents and local business owners within the axis, who have suffered significant hardship due to the prolonged power outage. For nearly a quarter of a year, commercial activities—ranging from small-scale welding shops and cold-room operators to neighborhood provision stores were severely crippled, while households struggled with the daily realities of life without electricity.

Community leaders and residents who spoke on the condition of anonymity expressed profound gratitude to Engineer Kawu for coming to their aid. According to local sources, several appeals made to relevant quarters had yielded little to no result, leaving the community stranded until the PDP candidate stepped in with the multi-million naira financial support.

Engineer Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu is no stranger to grassroots intervention. Across Kwara State, he has earned a stellar reputation for his unwavering commitment to humanitarian services and community development. Known widely for his “lighting up communities” initiative, Kawu has consistently utilized his personal resources to bridge infrastructural gaps where government or public utilities have fallen short.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiary areas, youth leaders in Isale-Koko and Ojagboro lauded Engineer Kawu for his promptness and empathy. They noted that unlike politicians who only show up during election cycles, Kawu has consistently demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of the people.

With the funds now fully disbursed, installation and repair works on the Burhanudeen community transformer are expected to commence immediately, paving the way for the restoration of power supply in the coming days. Local artisans and traders have expressed renewed optimism that business operations will soon bounce back to full capacity, injecting fresh life into the local economy.

The visit was accompany by his deputy PDP gubernatorial candidate Rev, Cornelius olaosebikan Fawenu and party stakeholders.
