The Independent National Election Commission’s Saturday presidential election results were acknowledged by the Social Democratic Party.

This was said by Shehu Gabam, the national chairman of the SDP, during a news conference on the results of the presidential election on Thursday in Abuja.
.
Every party, however, is entitled to protest, but we are not a part of any protests,” he added.

Despite the difficulties encountered during the poll, Bola Tinubu of the APC was declared the winner by INEC, according to Mr. Gabam.

In addition to winning two senatorial seats and four seats in the House of Representatives, he claimed that the party finished sixth in the presidential election. He added that while the party would not contest the presidential election in court, it would do so regarding the federal parliamentary system.

He expressed optimism that SDP will win some governorship and state Houses of Assembly seats and promised that the party would continue to assist its candidates in the state elections.

According to Mr. Gabam, the SDP did not provide any instructions about protests against the elections on February 25 and was not involved in any of them.

The usage of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) and the posting of the election results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal, he added, were two difficulties with the election.

Candidates and other harmed parties were instructed by the SDP chair to seek redress peacefully and lawfully.

Before the March 11 governorship and house of assembly elections, Mr. Gabam praised INEC and urged it to enhance its system.

“Election results show who won and who lost. All complaints should be handled appropriately and through the proper procedures if we are to truly serve the interests of our nation. The SDP leader emphasized his party’s strong belief that the country’s legal system is able to address the many election-related problems and difficulties and will always act appropriately.

He continued, “The SDP urge on the political class and the populace to abstain from violence in their deeds and words. In the greater good of our nation, they should strive actively and visibly for peace and social order.

Mr. Gabam urged the judiciary to treat all candidates and political parties that would be seeking redress after the election fairly.

He said that they had a duty to demonstrate to the world and Nigerians that they would treat everyone equally and fairly. “Our law must be effective no matter who is involved,”

He congratulated Mr. Tinubu, the president-elect, on his victory and urged him to take deliberate and practical action to include other candidates and resentful parties in his administration. In particular, he urged him to “bring the country together through a government of national unity to fix our obvious national cracks, address the failings, heal the land, and fast-track the process of national reconciliation.”
