Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president in the election for president on February 25th, pledged yesterday to put an end to insecurity and create the conditions necessary for socioeconomic activities to flourish, promising that his administration would solve the fuel crisis and support mechanized agriculture for export.

Speaking to the massive crowd gathered at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, also known as the “Nest of Champions,” Tinubu urged party members to make sure they were prepared with their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) in order to take part in the revolutionary change that would usher in a new era of prosperity, infrastructural renewal, and human capital development.

His vision is to redefine Nigeria along the path of real development with a view to elevating her to a proud position among the comity of nations. He commended the party supporters for their steadfastness and resoluteness in their firm belief in his vision.

“You have the ability to become President,” he remarked. God will grant you the ability to make it happen through your PVCs by giving you the command, “Emilokan” (this is my turn). Therefore, if you don’t already have it, get it so that you can be in the right positions if God blesses me with becoming your future President.

As he urged the populace to avoid the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Tinubu referred to the former vice president as a man of unpatriotic and dishonest character, recalling that while serving as Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s vice president, he engaged in wanton sleazy deals and sold off some national assets, of which he emerged as the sole beneficiary.

He recalled that Atiku had previously deceived the PDP, obtained the presidential ticket, and fled to Dubai when he lost, and warned the people to be wary of such character as he had secured the party’s ticket once more for the elections. He noted that Atiku’s unpredictable attitude, coupled with his corrupt tendencies, had made him into Obasanjo’s perennial political enemy.
