Everton’s 10-point deduction reduced to six
Everton have received a lifeline in their fight against relegation. Their initial 10-point penalty for breaching Premier League financial rules has been reduced to six following a successful appeal.
“The club is also particularly pleased with the Appeal Board’s decision to overturn the original Commission’s finding that the club failed to act in utmost good faith.
This means the Toffees move up to 15th in the table, five points clear of the relegation zone. Not only was the penalty reduced, but the club was also found to have acted in good faith, a key point of principle for them.
