Ondo’s governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, congratulated former Osun governor Gboyega Oyetola on his victory at the governorship election petition tribunal.

The tribunal’s decision, according to Akeredolu, will strengthen the nation’s democratic values, as stated in a statement released on Friday by his chief press secretary Richard Olatunde.

Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola was pronounced the winner of the state’s governorship election on July 16 by the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal, according to the announcement.

This is a win for democracy, no doubt about it. The ruling will undoubtedly strengthen and enhance the democratic principles and legal framework governing election petitions in our nation. Additionally, it will maintain the public’s confidence in our democratic system. The people’s will has won out. I congratulate Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, my closest sibling (Ileri-Oluwa). Along with the entire APC family, I also celebrate with the wonderful people of Osun State. This is a win for everyone.

“Although we are celebrating the current victory, I want to reassure my loving brother Gboyega that we will support him all the way to the Supreme Court. We will march down this path of unwavering conviction while holding hands. Ultimately, this triumph will stand forever.

Evidently, the election-related difficulties have been resolved as a result of this decision. We are certain that the restored mandate will give Osun State a fresh start. We implore the members of our party to rejoice in this triumph and to use it as a major springboard for the upcoming elections.

Adeleke called the decision “a miscarriage of justice” and said it was “an unfair interpretation against the wishes of the majority of voters.”
