2027 APC Assembly Aspirants Renew Loyalty to AbdulRazaq, Demand Conclusion of Reconciliation Process

The Coalition of House of Assembly Aspirants 2027 in Kwara State has reaffirmed its loyalty and commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, and the unity, peace and progress of the party.

The coalition, which represents aspirants across the 24 State Constituencies of Kwara State, made the position known in a statement signed by its leaders, while calling on the APC leadership to bring the ongoing reconciliation process to a meaningful and satisfactory conclusion.

According to the aspirants, they deliberately chose dialogue, restraint and the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms rather than confrontation or litigation after the 2027 primary elections.

They said they formally presented their concerns to Governor AbdulRazaq; the Chairman of the APC in Kwara State; the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly; and the APC Primary Elections Reconciliation Committee.

The coalition said it conducted itself with dignity and respect throughout the process, maintaining its commitment to the peace, stability and unity of the party.

The aspirants expressed profound appreciation to the party leadership for constituting the APC Primary Elections Reconciliation Committee and giving them the opportunity to present their position.

They said they fully complied with every request of the committee by submitting their memoranda, proposals and recommendations, adding that the committee acknowledged their concerns and encouraged them to remain patient and committed to the reconciliation process.

“In the interest of the Party, our members embraced reconciliation over litigation, firmly believing that the collective interest of the APC is greater than individual ambitions,” the coalition stated.

While expressing optimism that the reconciliation process would achieve its intended objectives, the coalition observed that despite its earlier letters and subsequent reminders addressed to the Governor, the State Chairman of the APC and the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, it was yet to receive any formal invitation or response from them.

The coalition therefore appealed to the leadership of the party to engage with its members and bring the reconciliation process to a meaningful and satisfactory conclusion in the overall interest of justice, fairness, equity, unity and the continued progress of the APC.

It also expressed optimism that its concerns would receive favourable consideration through genuine reconciliation, including appropriate refund and/or equitable financial consideration for the enormous resources expended on nomination forms, consultations, campaigns, logistics and other election-related activities.

The coalition further called for the consideration of qualified members for suitable elective opportunities, political appointments, party responsibilities and other positions of trust.

The aspirants also acknowledged recent consultations and engagements among various stakeholders within the party, saying they welcomed every sincere effort aimed at strengthening the unity and cohesion of the APC.

“We remain open to constructive engagement with all Party stakeholders, provided such efforts are genuinely directed towards reconciliation, mutual understanding, fairness, and the overall success of our Party,” they said.

The coalition maintained that lasting unity could only be built on sincerity, justice, inclusion and respect for every loyal member of the APC.

It further reassured Governor AbdulRazaq and the party leadership that its members remained steadfast in their loyalty to the ideals and vision of the APC.

The aspirants said that despite numerous political approaches and distractions from different quarters, they had remained resolute because of their unwavering belief in the future of the APC and the leadership of the Governor.

They consequently urged the party to reciprocate their loyalty by ensuring that those who had made sacrifices for the growth and success of the party were not forgotten.

The coalition also called on its members, supporters and stakeholders to remain peaceful, patient, united and law-abiding while awaiting the successful conclusion of the reconciliation process.

It expressed confidence that justice, fairness, equity and inclusiveness would prevail, and that the party leadership would take decisions capable of strengthening unity, rewarding loyalty, inspiring confidence and consolidating the APC ahead of future political engagements.
