Fake news upset me – Arteta on rumoured departure from Arsenal
Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, called suggestions that he will be leaving the team in June “fake news.”
While acknowledging that it bothers him, Arteta said he still has a lot of work to do at Arsenal.
The Spaniard made these remarks at his pre-game news conference on Tuesday before Arsenal’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.
Over the weekend, rumors circulated that the former assistant coach for Manchester City would depart from the Gunners at the end of the current campaign.
“I’m furious about this phony story that I’m leaving in June. Fabrizio Romano cited Arteta as stating, “I’m immersed in a beautiful journey with my players, the staff, and our beautiful people.”
At Arsenal, there’s still a lot of work to be done. “I always said that I belong here.”
Last season, Arteta guided Arsenal to a second-place result.
As of right now, Arteta’s team is positioned third in the Premier League standings.
The North London team trails leaders Liverpool by five points in the standings.
