I’ll Quit Boxing If I Lose To Franklin – Joshua

Anthony Joshua has promised that if he loses to Jermain Franklin in his comeback battle at the O2 Arena on Saturday night, he will stop boxing.

After losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk, the former two-time world champion will fight again this weekend against the American heavyweight.

Joshua hopes to make a statement at the “Lions Den” and earn his first professional victory since defeating Kubrat Pulev by technical knockout in December 2020.

The battle between a British boxer of Nigerian descent and Tyson Fury was supposed to take place in November or December, but it was postponed because of problems with sponsorship. After losing to Oleksandr Usyk in August 2022, the 33-year-old would later choose to fight Franklin on Saturday at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London, in an effort to turn around his recent slump and return to the championship race.

When asked about possibly ending his career, Joshua responded enthusiastically, “I will retire if I lose.”

I’m not here to fight anybody. I will quit if people want me to. If folks don’t want me to fight, I won’t.

Even money isn’t the issue. It has to do with your inner rival. What matters is that.

In response to a question about his post-retirement plans, Joshua said that despite the stress his job has required of him, he intends to have fun.

“I know I’m going to be chilling when I’m retired,” he declared.

“You people have put so much pressure on me, and when I finish, the chains will be gone.” I’m going to be having a good time and enjoying life.

He also made an effort to minimize Franklin’s prospects by asserting that his opponent required the victory more for the revival of his career.
