We are very ready to receive Buhari,’ Ganduje makes U-turn on president’s visit to Kano

Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano State, stated on Sunday that the state is ready for President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had refused to extend the deadline for the Naira swap, and Ganduje’s remark came just 24 hours after the state government had asked the president to cancel his trip to Kano.
The deadline for removing the old Naira notes from circulation was extended by the central bank on Sunday to February 10.
The Kano people are “quite ready” to welcome the Nigerian president to the historic city, the governor said reporters after a meeting with the president in Daura, Katsina.
On Monday, Buhari is anticipated to start a two-day business visit to Kano State.
He claimed that the state was pleased with the president’s answer to its concerns regarding the visit.
We are quite eager to welcome him here, and we have enough of state and federal government projects for him to commission, according to Ganduje. They are cutting-edge projects.
We told him that, after Lagos, Kano is the northern region of Nigeria’s commercial hub and the state with the highest population in the nation.
However, Kano outperforms Lagos in terms of cash transactions because Lagos has made significant progress toward a cashless society and cashless transactions.
