2023: “Don’t end your political career” – Atiku’s camp warns Wike, others

•As G-5 governors prepare to unveil their preferred candidate

Senator Dino Melaye, a spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), stated his optimism that the rumor that the G-5 governors will soon back their preferred candidate was untrue as the 2023 race gained momentum.

According to Newscrescent media, the PDP’s “integrity group,” which is comprised of the G5 governors (Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu), has been at odds with the party’s leadership and Atiku Abubakar. They have demanded that the Party’s National Chairman step down from the position to aid their declaration of support to Atiku Abubakar but the party is yet to satisfy their demand.

According to the information available to this newspaper, the unhappy governors are likely to launch campaigns against Atiku in their various states in the coming days.

Melaye responded, saying that provoking Atiku unfairly would “cost the G5 governors their political future.”

“Atiku will not be stopped by extortion, hatred, or extreme envy. I hope it’s not true that the G-5 governors will soon support their top choice.

“Their political future will be lost if they attack Atiku. A man who hasn’t done anything to provoke you shouldn’t be fought.

“Atiku’s lone transgression is that he won a presidential primary in an open and transparent manner. Nobody should act as God. The ex-lawmaker is quoted by Punch as stating.

“It is too late to stop Atiku,” Melaye continued. While they still have time, they ought to reconsider.

“The people have spoken, and Atiku will be president.

“Don’t end your political career because of an excessive desire for power or a rash act that will accomplish nothing,” is my advise to the G-5.

“If they move in that direction, it will be a dying horse’s final kick.”
