INEC chair Yakubu, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi to speak at Chatham House

The presidential candidates for the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and the Labour Party, LP, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Peter Obi, respectively, are anticipated to speak at the Chatham House research event scheduled for next week, along with INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
In a statement posted to its website, the Royal Institute of International Affairs noted that the event is a part of a series of activities and products looking at Nigeria’s elections and political developments in 2023.
On January 17, 2023, the INEC chairman will outline preparations and priorities for maintaining election integrity and inclusivity, according to its calendar of activities.
Yakubu will also go over the major issues and strategies for holding the polls, such as election security and the application of modern technology systems.
On January 18, 2023, Kwankwaso will speak on his policy suggestions for enhancing Nigeria’s systems and services, with a particular emphasis on the country’s education sector and the larger priorities for guaranteeing secure and inclusive service delivery.
On January 16, 2023, Obi will talk about his vision for policy and governance reforms in Nigeria, including the top concerns for addressing systemic insecurity and corruption as well as actions to encourage social and political mobility for Nigerian residents.
