Buhari hosts Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke
Osun Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke, who visited the White House as a “thank you,” has requested assistance, and President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to take this into consideration.
Among the requests Adeleke made were support for infrastructure development, a projected new economic city and free trade zone, tax credits, and other federal facilities in Osun State, according to a statement by Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
The Governor, who was elected on the platform of the opposing People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stated that he had grown to respect the President for creating an equal playing field in the election that took place in July of last year.
After the meeting, Adeleke praised President Buhari for approving the Electoral Act and strengthening the nation’s democracy in a statement to State House reporters.
Adeleke, who identified himself as one of the beneficiaries of the President’s action, added that the President’s move has improved Nigeria’s standing with the world community, which now views the nation as being prepared for true democracy.
The Governor responded that he was paying the President a “thank you” call when asked why he had visited the Villa.
He said: “I’m delighted to report that I just seen our President, and he looked so well, and so nice, and I’m happy about it.
Since I was elected, I feel as though I ought to greet the President and express my gratitude to him for approving the Electoral Act on my behalf. The international community is praising Nigeria for having free and fair elections as a result, and Nigeria is now ready for democracy.
I’m here today to see him, thank him, and wish him well for the remainder of his term in office, so that is why, he added.
