Keyamo Reacts To Atiku’s Gaffe At PDP Rally In Kogi

Festus Keyamo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) chief spokesperson, has responded to the gaffe made by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar during the party’s rally in Kogi State.
Recall that On February 25, Atiku, Ifeanyi Okowa, Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP National Chairman, and several other PDP stalwarts stormed the Kogi Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, the state capital, to win over the populace and win their support.

However, Atiku erroneously suggested that Nigerians vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) when addressing the mass of fans who had flocked to the stadium to see the former Vice President, before hastily retracting his statement.

People of Kogi State, we are not here to trick you, he remarked. We are upright men and women. I want to make an appeal to you to vote APC… PDP in the presidential election if you want your new state government to be beneficial to you.

You’ll see that we’ll take over Kogi state and ensure that you all receive good government by the time the governorship election rolls around.

The incident occurred a few weeks after the PDP candidate for governor of the Plateau State made a mistake similar to this one during a party rally at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos.

Atiku ended his speech in Hausa by urging people to vote for the PDP this time around “for God’s sake and the value of this place.”

In response to Atiku’s most recent gaffe, Keyamo remarked in a tweet sent on Saturday through his verified Twitter account that the media would have destroyed Bola Tinubu if he had made the same mistake.

“Atiku Abubakar just announced in Kogi State that Nigerians should vote for APC,” he wrote, before hastily retracting his statement. Now, if this were the “official” ABAT, the media would be yelling “gaffe.” Keep in mind that Atiku has made this error previously when running for office.
