Atiku Campaign wants the NDLEA and EFCC to detain and prosecute Tinubu on drug-related and money-laundering charges
The Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization Monday requested that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrest and prosecute the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief
regarding claims of narcotics trafficking and money laundering.
However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council quickly responded by restating that Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee, has the moral integrity to lead Nigeria.
The PDP presidential campaign organization also urged President Buhari to convene a meeting of the National Security Council over Tinubu’s creation of a parallel army (the Jagaban Army) in order to safeguard the integrity of the Nigerian military as the commander-in-chief and the sovereignty of the country.
At a press conference in Abuja where Atiku Abubakar’s Special Assistant for Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication Bashorun Dele Momodu, Media Adviser Paul Ibe, Spokesperson of the Presidential Campaign Council Daniel Bwala, and Spokesperson of the Presidential Campaign Council Charles Aniagwu spoke, the campaign council demanded the APC candidate’s arrest and claimed that both his public and private life reeked of corruption.
It said that since the public outrage over the APC’s and its presidential candidate’s revealed plan to use a parallel army, code-named the Jagaban Army, to undermine purported national security, Nigerians have been concerned. It claimed the group was an insult to the Nigerian Army and was set up to confuse voters, sabotage the 2023 election, and thwart the democratic process. It also noted that neither the APC campaign nor Tinubu had denounced the group or its evil intentions.
The campaign team discredited Tinubu’s public records, which they claimed were riddled with alleged inaccuracies and criminalities. They noted that Tinubu was unfit to be president due to ongoing money laundering investigations, the United States government’s drug trafficking charges against him for which he reached a forfeiture agreement, the absence of academic records, the lack of accurate information about his age, and the absence of academic records. Therefore, the campaign team urged Tinubu to give up his excessive ambition for the presidency for the benefit of the nation and referred to the APC candidate as a “con man.”

The fact that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling APC, has close contacts to drug traffickers and was employed as a conduit for the laundering of their money, is no longer news.
According to court documents, in the 1980s, a sophisticated network of heroin traffickers was operated in Chicago, Illinois, by Nigerian drug lord Adegboyega Muiz Akande. “This inquiry has identified more people, including family, who have performed a variety of tasks for Akande in the distribution organization. However, this does not negate the fact that he worked as a bagman for drug dealers and was in collusion with them. Nigerian law is unambiguous, it declared. It went on to say that the drug trafficking case against Tinubu should be revived because criminal charges do not have a statute of limitations. Criminal cases can be reopened at any moment, especially for reasons of national interest, and they have no statute of limitations. We demand that Bola Ahmed Tinubu be detained right once and charged with narcotics trafficking by the NDLEA.
