Charles Onyirimba, a Labour Party candidate for governor of Imo State, has urged media professionals to make sure the upcoming general elections are successful and legitimate.

Onyirimba, a media specialist and lawyer with training from the United States, asserted that journalists should direct and provide the people with reliable information so they may make informed decisions during the elections.

He made the call while hosting Mbano Nation journalists who paid him a courtesy visit at his Owerri home yesterday.

“Journalists will also be held accountable if the electorate fails to play their own part effectively too,” said Onyirimba. “Just as Nigerians look up to the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and our leaders for a credible 2023 elections.”

African Quest Newspaper’s publisher, Onyirimba, also asked Nigerians to cast their votes in favor of the country’s overall well-being and the common good rather than just their own individual interests.

He emphasized that the elections in 2023 will provide Nigerians another chance to change the narrative and choose leaders who will be accountable to the people and who truly care about their interests.

A transformational force and the hope for a new Nigeria, he also urged support for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
