MTN Nigeria apologises after service breakdown almost ‘ruined’ Valentine’s Day

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, a supplier of telecom services, has expressed regret to its clients for the network outage that occurred on Valentine’s Day.
Many of the company’s clients were unable to place or receive calls due to the outage, and using data was also unavailable for several hours.
The regret: MTN, the biggest mobile provider in Nigeria in terms of customers, acknowledged that due to a network fault that prevented consumers from connecting with their loved ones on the special day, it had failed the subscribers and interrupted their plans. However, the business said that the network issue has been fixed and services have resumed.
In part of their Tuesday night apologies, the telecom stated:
“Of all days, you couldn’t rely on us to keep you in constant contact with the people, locations, companies, and things that are important to you. The level of our regret for the disturbance we created is beyond words. The problem has been fixed, and services have been resumed. We will never stop letting you know how much you mean to us.
Since they were unable to communicate at all while the service interruption lasted, many MTN subscribers had complained about the network outage. Tuesday afternoon saw the beginning of the outage, which persisted until Tuesday evening before being fixed.
