Screening of ministerial nominees’ll be thorough — Senate Leader

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the leader of the Senate, has promised that the Senate will carefully review the ministerial nominees that President Bola Tinubu has forwarded to it in order to determine their qualifications and capacity to serve Nigeria diligently and in a way that will benefit the people of Nigeria from democracy.

The senator from the All Progressives Congress who represents the Ekiti Central Senatorial District claimed that the upper house, led by Senator Godswill Akpabio, was eager to make sure that persons in key positions during Tinubu’s administration were capable of carrying them out.

On Saturday, Bamidele gave a speech in Ado Ekiti at the conclusion of a 24-hour long praise and worship marathon just before a Communion Service at Iyin Ekiti, his birthplace, to commemorate his 60th birthday.

The Senate Leader declared, “Nigerians want us to conduct a comprehensive investigation. But the take a bow and go tradition is not unparliamentary; it is a common practice all over the world. Also, the person must be a well-known former member of the parliament. Someone in whose abilities to provide Nigerians with quality leadership we have faith.

To fulfill our obligation to appease those who supported us, we will adhere to the constitution. This will take place at the committee, oversight, and parliamentary levels.

To fulfill his pledges to Nigerians, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will have our support. We are steadfastly committed to putting all three branches of the government—especially the judiciary—on a solid foundation so that it may administer justice impartially. We are determined to make sure that the appropriate individuals are hired,” he stated.

In light of the loss of fuel subsidies, the legislator told Nigerians that the Federal Government will soon launch social investment projects to ease the suffering of the masses, especially the country’s most impoverished citizens.

“The Federal Government will implement palliatives to aid the poorest of the poor,” he declared. In addition to the promised pay increase that would be implemented at the federal and state levels, another category of palliatives will be made available to civil officials.

The Federal Government will be able to save a ton of money as a result of the subsidy withdrawal, which will enable it to build infrastructure and satisfy all Nigerians. President Tinubu had that in mind when he ordered the dismissal. He is aware of the struggles Nigerians face, and measures are being taken to mitigate the effects of this removal.

Bamidele expressed his gratitude to God for sparing his life so that he could celebrate his 60th birthday. Looking back on his political career, he described the act of kindness as an extraordinary favor.
