Super Falcon Allowances: Reps Committee fumes as Gasau, NFF President, shuns invitation
Ibrahim Gusau, the head of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has once more been called in by an ad hoc committee looking into the altercation between the Super Falcons and NFF officials.
Following Mr. Gusau’s rejection of the committee’s invitation, Blessing Onuh, the chairman of the committee, issued the summons on Wednesday.
The committee was established to look into the matter of the Super Falcon squad receiving allowances after their performance at the World Cup in Australia.
The NFF president was represented by Mohammed Sanusi, the secretary general of THE NFF, who noted that the president was unable to attend due to illness. The committee, however, turned down the submission.
Gusau was charged by Ms. Onuh with taking the committee for granted.
“Nigerians are curious, and Nigerians are keeping an eye on. We shouldn’t take this investigation hearing lightly since the girls performed admirably and made Nigerians proud.
We provided the NFF president with a chance to speak in front of this Ad-hoc Committee. I will argue that he is always the one calling us, and his justification is not as compelling as ours.
The NFF president, she continued, “had the effrontery to send his SA to let her know he wouldn’t be able to make there. He is misleading us, and we won’t stand for it.
The NFF Secretary General was then asked to go and the NFF President ordered to appear on Thursday.
