Farmers made more money under Buhari’s administration —Minister
According to Mohammad Abubakar, minister of agriculture and rural development, Nigerian farmers have made more money since President Muhammadu Buhari took office.
The minister stated that agriculture is a sustainable path to riches for Nigeria while speaking at a gathering hosted by a political party’s agro commodity directorate.
The last eight years have been the best ever for farmers. When Buhari was elected president in 2015, he made it a priority to transform Nigeria into the agricultural powerhouse that we ought to have been years ago, according to the minister.
“In the past seven and a half years, farmers of all sizes have made more money than in the previous administrations. Budgetary allocations and specific interventions in the agricultural sector have increased under this administration.
“This administration has ensured that Nigeria is a shining example to the rest of the world. We are self-sufficient in rice. In Africa, we are in first place. Worldwide, we are the leaders in the cassava industry.
Abubakar Bello, the chief of the agro commodities directorate, claimed that the nation has been able to produce what it requires and is preparing for export.
We cannot afford to let in a dumb government that has previously vowed to open the country’s borders, return us to a time of heavy importation of food and weaponry, and cause the closure of over 70 recently built integrated rice mills and other agricultural assets, leaving our youths jobless.
