Federal Govt Needs N21bn To Fix National Stadium Lagos – Dare

The National Stadium in Lagos, which had lain empty for 17 years before to the current work beginning two years ago, has to be totally renovated, according to an estimate of roughly N21 billion.
Sunday Dare, the minister of sports, said this on Friday in Lagos and stated that 80% of the work had already been completed with the limited funds provided by Adebutu Kessington under the ministry’s Adopt-A-Pitch program.
“We lost one year to COVID-19 during that time, but we were still able to make an impact,” Dare continued.
We needed ten sponsors, but just one signed on. Each stadium’s budget is insufficient to keep it maintained. The Surulere Stadium’s narrative is tragic since all the cables were stolen, leaving us to start from scratch after finding a completely dead structure.
“At this time, the scoreboard, pitch, and sprinklers are all back, and the tartan tracks are 80 percent ready.”
The Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, which had been vacant for 13 years, was reopened with the help of the sports ministry, and the sports minister praised Kessington and Aliko Dangote for their efforts.
