According to Alh. Aliko Dangote, chairman of the Dangote Group, the first refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as Petrol from Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals, will be available in Nigeria by the end of July or the beginning of August.
In his speech during the ceremonial commissioning of the 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery at Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos State on Monday, Dangote made the announcement.
According to him, the plant is the largest in the world and has the potential to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day in addition to 900,000 tonnes of polypropylene in a single train.
“We have chosen the best buildings, machinery, and cutting-edge technology from around the globe.
Additionally, the product line is planned to meet the highest quality standards for high-value goods, such as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), and Aviation Turbine Kerosine (ATK); all of these products are compliant with Euro V Standards, allowing us to not only meet domestic demand but also establish ourselves as a major player in the African and international markets, according to Dangote.
The wealthiest man in Africa claimed that the nation’s coastal location and offshore loading and offloading (SPM) facilities, which can receive all of its crude oil supplies and export up to 75% of liquid products, give the facility direct access to the rest of Africa and the world market for exports.
