Flutterwave not hacked, says Management

Customers’ worries over the rumor that the company was hacked have been allayed by the management of Flutterwave, a prominent Fintech company in Africa.
It stated that it recognizes the critical nature of protecting customers’ private and financial information, that it takes this obligation seriously, and that any potential security breach may raise concerns and anxiety among our clients.
We want to reassure you that Flutterwave has not been hacked, said Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, director of corporate communications at Flutterwave. As a financial institution, we keep an eye on transactions using our fraud desk, which is staffed around-the-clock, and our transaction monitoring tools. To maintain the safety and security of our ecosystem, we cooperate with other financial institutions and law enforcement organizations.
We discovered an unexpected trend of transactions on some individuals’ profiles during a normal check of our transaction monitoring system. In accordance with our usual operating process, our staff promptly started an investigation, which showed that some users who had not turned on all of our advised security settings would have been vulnerable.
We are pleased that our security mechanisms were able to address the issue before any harm could be done to our users, and we wish to reaffirm that no user lost any money.
We make significant investments in security initiatives like recurring audits, certifications, and licenses like the PCI-DSS and ISO 27001. This demonstrates our dedication to maintaining the safety and security of our users’ financial information. These follow the information security management best practices seen throughout the world.
“We want customers to continue to have faith in us and feel safe using Flutterwave for their commercial requirements. Our goal is to support the expansion of your business while protecting the security of your financial data.
