Interim govt satanic, unconstitutional, Igbos will support Tinubu’s swearing in – Ohanaeze

The top Igbo sociocultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, pledged on Monday to back Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, amid calls for an interim administration.

The demand for an interim administration, according to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Secretary-General Okechukwu Isiguzoro, is satanic and unconstitutional.

Isiguzoro pleaded with the Department of State Services, or DSS, to detain those responsible for the calls for a temporary administration.

Isiguzoro asserted in a statement to DAILY POST that the Igbo apex socio-political group would never support such evil in Nigeria.

Isiguzoro asserted: “Ndigbo will never serve in any temporary government; the DSS should detain those who are conspiring behind the scenes to establish an interim government.

To prevent unpatriotic elements of doom from derailing our democracy with the evil purpose to stall the orderly transfer of power from Buhari to Tinubu, Ohanaeze challenges the DSS to arrest those who support the interim government.

“Ndigbo will not support an interim administration or take part in any wicked plot while calling for one. The demand for an interim administration is unlawful, satanic, and demonic; those who are behind it are attempting to drag the nation into an unavoidable crisis and use Ndigbo as a scapegoat, as was the case in 1993.

Ndigbo will take part in all of Bola Tinubu’s commencement and swearing-in ceremonies. We warn those stoking the fires of an illegal government not to use the court to express their feelings.

We are pleased that Atiku and Peter Obi used the legal choices available to them in order to regain their constitutional authority. We won’t enable unpatriotic mortals to undo Nigeria’s hard-won democracy.

The call for the creation of an interim government is denounced by Ndigbo in both words and deeds, and the group insists that the president-elect be sworn in by May 29, 2023.

Isiguzoro lamented the fact that Igbos have become a rare species and declared that Igbos would not submit to being sacrificed.

He pointed out that the systematic burning of Igbo properties had set the scene for those plotting an interim government.

“Ndigbos are an endangered species in Nigeria, and never again will Igbos be used as a sacrificial lamb as they were in 1993 during the Abiola saga, where many Igbos were killed, bullied, and maimed,” Isiguzoro concluded.

“The supporters of the interim administration have already begun laying the groundwork by burning Igbo-populated marketplaces in Lagos, the president-elect’s hometown. Additionally, a market in Borno, the Vice President-elect’s native state, was set on fire.

These are pills that can never handle the daily routine. Igbo people have matured and become more refined since 1993.

“We will continue to back the president-elect and urge him to start the Southeast’s rebuilding process.
