Jude Bellingham joins Ronaldo as he sets unique record at Real Madrid
Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Real Madrid, has joined the team’s former striker Cristiano Ronaldo as he establishes a rare record following a spectacular debut for Los Blancos.
Bellingham, who transferred to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund this summer, is creating a stir in La Liga by imitating Ronaldo’s great debut for the team.
He scored in La Liga last week against Athletic Bilbao to celebrate his Real Madrid debut.
In his subsequent La Liga match on Saturday, Bellingham also contributed an assist and two goals as Real Madrid defeated Almeria 3-1.
The 20-year-old has had an unbelievable start, scoring three goals and providing an assist in his first two La Liga games.
Bellingham now joins a very select group of athletes, as the last player to have such a strong start for Real Madrid was Ronaldo in 2009, according to the BBC.
Ronaldo made his Real Madrid debut against Deportivo La Corua in 2009 after moving from Manchester United. With goals against Espanyol, Xerez, and Villarreal, the Portugal captain continued to dazzle. By scoring in his first four matches, he raised the bar for Bellingham to meet.
