KWARA 2023: I’ll work harder, AbdulRazaq Promises Kwarans

The All Progressives Congress’ success in the elections on Saturday, according to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, highlighted the willingness of the populace to continue the excellent growth that Kwara has seen over the last three years.

The governor promised to do more for the people after winning the recently-concluded governorship election in a statement issued on Monday by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye. He also said he would build on the accomplishments of his first term.

The win is a call for me to build on, spread out the benefits of the last three and a half years, and do much more for the people, according to the statement. I promise to stay committed to this.

Together, we will create a Kwara whose politics are based on providing equal opportunities to everyone, enlarging the state’s economic basis, and providing its citizens with the benefits of democracy in an environment of peace and respect for human dignity.

“This victory is very humbling, and we praise God alone for having enabled it. It expresses our people’s knowledge of our past, admiration for the advancements made from then to now, and dedication to a better future.

It expresses the desire of Kwarans both at home and abroad to maintain the progress made over the previous three and a half years. It shows they recognize our modest attempts to improve the lot of our state”, the Governor said.

“My deep appreciation goes to all the stakeholders for the truly pan-Kwara mandate; young or old, men and women, traditional and religious institutions, civil servants, private sector players, thought leaders, political leaders, market men and women, artisans, the media, students, and our young ones who energised our communities with that sweet, creative chant of “Maa se lo,” he continued.

“I give God and the people of our state, in the north, south, and central, all the glory for this electoral triumph. They have demonstrated once more that the people have the power. Last but not least, I applaud the election’s peaceful conduct and especially thank the security services, the election umpire, and the political leaders for making the Kwara elections the most peaceful in Nigeria.

The triumph of the party in the election, according to the state’s chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, was a reflection of the love the populace in the state has for the party.
