Kwara Central Senator, Saliu Mustapha, emerges Chairman Senate Committee on Agric and Rural Development
The official confirmation of Senator Saliu Mustapha as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development was announced by Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, President of the 10th Senate, during Monday’s senate plenary session.
This appointment honors Senator Mustapha’s commitment to and dedication to public service.
Saliu Mustapha, a senator from Kwara Central, said, “I consider this a privilege to serve the Nation and the good people of Kwara Central.” He expressed his thanks.
Senator Mustapha is well-positioned to make a significant contribution to the growth and improvement of the nation’s agricultural and rural sectors because to his track record of success in public service.
The Agric Committee is one of the Senate A-Class committees, popularly described as ‘juicy committes’. It’s usually so described because of the number of federal institutions and agencies they’re expected to oversee and opportunities therein for the committees members’ constituents.
It was reliably learnt that Mustapha specially chose and lobbied for the agric committee citing the opportunities therein for his largely aggragrian constituency of Kwara Central.
Meanwhile, Mustapha was also announced as the Vice-chairman of the plumb committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream). He’s also expected to be members of ten other committees…
