Misinformed politicians responsible for Okene bomb incident’ – Kogi State Government

The Okene bomb explosion on Thursday was blamed on opponents of progress, according to the Kogi government.
This was said in a phone chat with Governor Yahaya Bello on Thursday in Lokoja by retired Commodore Jerry Omodara.
Around 9:00 a.m., an explosion close to the former palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland killed four persons and injured two more.
According to Mr. Omodara, the administration was aware that such an event was likely to occur in advance, which “explains why we have enough deployment of security people around the state to be able to frustrate their efforts.”
The Kogi administration blamed opponents of progress for the detonation of the Okene bomb on Thursday.
Retired Commodore Jerry Omodara made this statement during a phone conversation with Governor Yahaya Bello on Thursday in Lokoja.
Four people were murdered and two more were injured in an explosion that occurred close to the former palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland at 9:00 a.m.
The administration, in Mr. Omodara’s words, “explains why we have enough deployment of security professionals around the state to be able to frustrate their efforts” because they were informed that such an incident was likely to occur beforehand.
Furthermore, he warned “the disgruntled politicians that Kogi will continue to be on top in the area of security in this country as far as Bello’s administration is concerned,” adding that “for some politicians to celebrate the blast is very unfortunate and not the kind of politics that can move us forward in this state and the nation as a whole.”
Nothing can detract from the governor’s interest in maintaining peace in Kogi. The governor’s security adviser stated, “We are suspecting the individual who died in the automobile as the one who brought the bomb or explosive to disrupt the program for today.
“Samples have already been taken (from) both human and car parts,” he continued, “and the police and other security organizations conducting the investigation will ascertain exactly what transpired. The public will undoubtedly receive reports from the police and other security services.
