The three special aides that Kwara Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq recently appointed have been denied membership in the New Nigeria Peoples Party, according to the party.

This was said in a statement made accessible to journalists in Ilorin on Thursday by Malam AbdulSalam AbdulRazaq, the party’s state chairman.

As an act of atonement for his inclusive leadership, AbdulRazaq recently nominated four NNPP members to the position of Special Advisers. However, the party chairman claimed that the appointees were unknown to the NNPP in the state.

As there was no nomination or input from party executives, the appointments were not made through the party.

The party’s state authorities noted that the individuals who profited from the appointment are “Taliban group members” and not NNPP.

The party remarked that Prof. Shuaibu AbdulRaheem’s actions as a past candidate for governor were a one-man show and not in the party’s best interests.

The chairman disclosed that other candidates and parties approached NNPP about forming a coalition during the run-up to the recently ended general election, but the party declined.

No political party, including the APC, is collapsing its structures with the NNPP in Kwara.

As the NNPP is fully prepared to field candidates in all 16 local government areas of the state, the statement said in part, “We remain focused and also call on governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to lift bans on local government elections as soon as possible.”
