Police deploy officers ahead of Buhari’s Adamawa visit
For President Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to visit the state without incident, the Adamawa State Police Command has sent out more resources.
Officers were also instructed by the command to conduct themselves with extreme professionalism and regard for human rights.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Command’s spokesman, revealed this in a statement released on Saturday in Yola.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Buhari would be in the state on Monday to open Sen. Aishatu Binani’s campaign rally for governor.
The surveillance patrol troops, tactical/operational teams, Police Mobile Force, and Counter Terrorism Unit, he claimed, were just a few of the additional operational assets.
The squads will work with sister security organizations to conduct covert surveillance and confidence-boosting patrols throughout the state.
“The CP guarantees that all security agencies that will be implemented will work together harmoniously.
Additionally, the NPF has vowed to cooperate with other patriotic stakeholders to maintain law and order in the State prior to, during, and after Mr. President’s visit.
As the state’s chief of internal security, he said, “The CP is already on the ground to oversee the security deployment and ensure that, barring unforeseen circumstances, the visit of Mr. President goes off without a hitch.”
Nguroje added that CP has also ordered that vehicular traffic be restricted, particularly for those traveling from Sangere-Numan Road to Yola Town. Instead, they are to divert from FGGC Junction via Jambutu Motor Park, which will take them to Doubeli Junction.
The 80 Housing Units should be taken through the Commissioner’s Quarters and down to the Mubi roundabout, he told those traveling from Yola Town to the Airport.
He urged the public to act properly and assist security personnel in carrying out their constitutionally mandated duties, while also regretting any problems they may have caused.
