The Afrofusion singer Wande Coal said his current priorities are fostering a new generation of Nigerian artists.

The 37-year-old claimed during a Q&A session at a recent event that he has “new cats” who look up to him.

An emerging musician is referred to as a “new cat” in modern music.

The performer continued by saying that having an impact on the lives of aspiring musicians would only benefit him.

So developing fresh abilities is also very essential to me. Now, it’s not about me. I’ve been able to change throughout the years, you know,” he replied.

I now wish to support emerging artists. The systems have undoubtedly altered. I am looked up to by new artists and new kitties. It would only be beneficial for me if I had an impact on both of their lives and the Nigerian music industry.

“It’s obvious that our music has gone global. Since 2011, it has been a worldwide phenomenon. At that point, we started killing it in America. The new generation that is doing it has been our focus recently.

Going forward, all I want to do is teach future generations about new lives.

Wande Coal began to become well-known after signing with the now-defunct music company Mo’Hits Records in 2006.

Since then, he has established himself as a household figure in Nigeria’s entertainment sector.

The singer has also collaborated with an avalanche of music stars and won multiple prestigious awards for his craft.
