Emefiele: Adeyanju attacks Tinubu for appointing Shonubi as acting CBN gov
Adebisi Shonubi’s appointment as the Central Bank of Nigeria’s acting governor has drawn criticism from President Bola Tinubu.
Socio-political activist Deji Adeyanju criticized Tinubu for choosing Shonubi to serve as the interim governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Tinubu has selected Shonubi to serve as the interim governor of the central bank after Godwin Emefiele’s suspension.
Adeyanju warned that Tinubu’s choice to nominate mechanical engineer Shonubi could spell disaster for Nigeria.
While praising President Bola Tinubu for suspending Emefiele, Adeyanju stated in a Facebook post: “I am quite disturbed that he has nominated Shonubi, a mechanical engineer, as Acting Governor of the Apex bank.
Turkey has made a similar appointment to the CBN Governor position, and Kenya recently did the same.
The new president goes to nominate a mechanical engineer as Acting CBN Governor although we are still stating that the FG must cease picking bankers as CBN Governor because they have no knowledge of fiscal policies or how to govern an economy. Nations fail for this reason.
