JUST IN: Obasanjo, Fayemi meet Wike at Rivers summit
On Thursday in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the governors of Ekiti and Rivers states meet with Nyesom Wike.
The Port Harcourt International Conference 2023 is currently taking place at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt, and Obasanjo and Fayemi are in attendance.
“Deepening Democratic Culture and Institutions for Sustainable Development and Security in Nigeria” is the summit’s theme.
Recall On January 1, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential contender for the 2023 election, received Obasanjo’s open endorsement. Fayemi is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power, whereas Governor Wike is a prominent member of the PDP’s G5 group of disgruntled governors.
None of the three are backing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president of Nigeria who is running for president for the fifth time and is the PDP’s presidential candidate.
