KWHA 2023: Speaker, Yakub Danladi Wins Reelection With Wide Margin

The All Progressives Congress, APC Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu was declared the victor of the Ilesha-Gwanara state constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, defeating Usman Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

The Returning Officer, Dr. Adewale Rafiu, announced the outcome at the Gwanara LGEA primary school, which served as the collation center for the Ilesha/Gwanara constituency. He noted that Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu received 14, 949 votes, while Usman Abubakar, his closest rival, received 2,072 votes.

In accordance with the legislation, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu of the APC is hereby pronounced the victor and is re-elected. Dr. Rafiu remarked

Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu thanked the good people of the Ilesha-Gwanara constituency in his acceptance speech for their overwhelming support, which led to his victory, and vowed to continue prioritizing their welfare.

“I would like to thank my constituents for the outpouring of support and affection that helped me win this wonderful victory at the polls. I will continue to appreciate and repay this exceptional act with another outstanding performance in office while putting the needs of the people first.”

I want to express my sincere gratitude to our Royal Fathers, HRH Professor Halidu Abubakar, the Emir of Ilesha Baruba, HRH Alhaji Idris Abubakar, the Emir of Okuta, for their unwavering support and unwavering love at all times. The support of our clerics, APC stakeholders and supporters, as well as the residents of Baruten Local Government in general, must also be acknowledged. They have all been wonderful people, and by God’s grace, I will not let them down.

With this outcome, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu has now successfully defended his seat in the Ilesha-Gwanara constituency.
