Police arrests Portable after initial resistance

At the end of a deadline to surrender, Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, also known by his stage name Portable, was taken into custody by the authorities.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, a spokeswoman for the Ogun State Police, verified that Portable had been detained and was being held at the Eleweran, Abeokuta, state police headquarters.
After rejecting five offers, Portable was detained, according to Oyeyemi.
On Wednesday, when cops were trying to arrest Portable at his bar, Portable resisted.
According to the police, Portable acted irrationally and insulted officers who were performing their official duties, which is against Nigerian law.
On social media, a number of videos featuring Portable recounting his run-ins with police agents went viral.
According to the seriousness of the offense, police spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi said, “The NPF will take all necessary steps to investigate his actions and ensure that he is prosecuted for any criminal activity he may have committed.”
“The Police will not tolerate any disorderly behavior, assault, or attack on its agents who are performing their official duties. We must appreciate the risks that law enforcement personnel take to uphold the rule of law and combat crime and criminality in our society.
