In order to guarantee efficient service delivery, the federal government reiterated its commitment on Thursday to increased productivity, time management, job satisfaction, and morale of civil servants.

This was stated during the inauguration of the capacity workshop for Social Welfare)/Community Development and Assistant Cadres in the Ministry by Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development.
Dr. Sani-Gwarzo explained that the “training is very important and timely as it provides the opportunity to impact the knowledge and required information to the officers for optimal performance. Malam Mohammed Dauda, the Special Assistant on Admin, was present to represent him.

“As you may know, training is intended to help employees develop new abilities and information that will boost their productivity. It is true that workers and staff who acquire new skills and knowledge will not only increase their professional competence but also feel more appreciated.

“It enables social workers to be more motivated to achieve their career objectives. When employees receive training, they are more likely to take on bigger duties, which boosts morale, productivity, time management, and productivity while encouraging them to take advantage of learning opportunities.

In light of our commitment to delivering quality services to all of our target groups as we move forward into a new phase of fulfilling our mandate, this attests to the necessity of constantly encouraging our workforce to perform at their best. At the same time, it serves as a guarantee to the Ministry’s entire staff that they will not be overlooked or left out as we advance.Employees can be given the information and skills necessary to feel confident carrying out their responsibilities by enrolling them in a course that is pertinent to and closely relates to their roles. This in turn can boost team morale and give employees a feeling of direction for their work.

Any company must place a high priority on employee training and treat it as sacred in order to achieve the best results possible in the industry in which it competes or among the other economic players.

“Through training, workers are brought up to levels of rising productivity and efficiency, which leads to profitability and an increase in the organization’s value, which in turn aids in consolidation and competitiveness. In our capacity as civil employees and members of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, we must recognize the distinction between welfare and training.

The professional social workers who are in charge of providing social services across the entire spectrum of social work practices in the social development sector cannot afford to fall behind in the knowledge and information needed to practice at the highest level, he observed.
In order to accomplish this goal, he gave each participant the responsibility to take advantage of the chance to contribute positively and to work as cooperatively as possible with the Resource Persons.
The capacity building workshop was organized for all professional officer cadres in the Ministry, according to Director of the Social Development Department, Mr. Taiwo Bashorun, who spoke previously. The workshop’s goal is to provide the participants with the knowledge and information that will support their work as professional officers.

As you may be aware, the country’s social work practice has been hampered by the lack of thorough and efficient instruction for social workers.
You are accountable for the efficient implementation of the Ministry’s programs and activities in order to achieve the Government’s goals and objectives for the nation’s social development sector as program officers made up of the Social Welfare and Community Development Officers Cadres.Due to the aforementioned, it is crucial to possess the necessary abilities, information, and understanding of best practices.

The laudable goals of this capacity-building workshop include: assisting participants in improving their knowledge and skills in social work education; exposing participants to current social work issues; providing participants with the knowledge they need to help them in their daily practice; and exposing participants to strategies, techniques, and procedures that increase operational effectiveness in addressing emerging social issues.

You will all concur with me that training aimed at increasing officer capacity will significantly improve their performance in providing services, as the skills and information participants acquire not only support their professional development but also make them feel appreciated. In this way, it gives employees the chance to become more motivated to achieve their professional goals.I have a lot of faith that this capacity-building workshop will ultimately produce the desired results, which include exposing social workers to best practices and enhancing their understanding of professional officers to advance the field.

Dear professional colleagues, I will kindly ask that we all make better use of this excellent opportunity that is presented to us in order to help gain the knowledge that will help us achieve professional growth while also assisting us in remaining relevant in our various work schedules and practices, he emphasized.
Alhaji Mashood Mustapha, president of the National Association of Social Workers (NASoW), stated in his remarks that social workers should take pride in their position in society because they provide almost everyone with the professional needs they require.
