PSG drop Mbappe for Ligue 1 clash against Lorient
According to ESPN, Kylian Mbappe won’t be part of Paris Saint-Germain’s lineup for their Ligue 1 season opener against Lorient at Parc des Princes on Saturday.
Under the new manager Luis Enrique, the 24-year-old has been prohibited from participating in first-team training, and his future is uncertain.
Mbappe may potentially be suspended from every PSG game in August against Lorient, Toulouse, and Lens.
The France captain informed the French champions that he will not extend his current agreement, which expires in June 2024.
Mbappe was not included in PSG’s preseason trip to Japan because club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi demanded that he sign a new contract or consent to being sold this summer.
The forward has been made to train with the “unwanted” players on their way out of PSG which include Leandro Paredes, Georginio Wijnaldum and Julian Draxler
