Supreme Court sacks Bwacha as APC governorship candidate in Taraba

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court declared void Emmanuel Bwacha’s All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination for governor of Taraba State.
The decision was made on Wednesday by a five-member panel under the direction of Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
In response to a lawsuit brought by rival candidate David Sabo Kente, a federal high court in Jalingo, Taraba state, first ousted Bwacha as the APC’s governorship candidate in September 2022.
The federal high court’s decision that the APC had not staged a legitimate governorship primary in Taraba State that had produced Bwacha as a candidate for governor was upheld by the Supreme Court.
